Franklinton Preparatory Academy will prepare graduates to be successful in a variety of fields.
“all students, irrespective of differences, can learn at high levels and graduate from high school”
As we designed our school, substantial research confirmed that students like Franklinton students will thrive into their futures if they have strong relationships with friends, with teachers and school personnel, with mentors and academic advisors, and with those from the community who will be working with FPA students. Positive relationships are the glue that keeps students in school, showing up every day to focus on their learning, earning their high school diploma, and heading toward a successful career and life.

English Language Arts and Career Technical Education Teacher
Brady Calestro teaches English Language Arts and Video & Sound at FPA. He received his BSc. from the London School of Economics (UK) and his M.Ed. from Antioch University (Yellow Springs, USA). Prior to this, he founded Mondokio International News—a website that allows students to consider multiple perspectives on the same news topic (www.mondokio.com). Meaning “world eye” in Italian, Mondokio teaches students higher order analytic skills, as well as the importance of empathy, debate, and courage. One of his priorities at FPA is to develop the global identity and perspective of his students, so they may compete on a scale beyond conventional expectations. This includes engaging in synchronous, as well as asynchronous communication with FPA’s sister schools outside the United States. He is proud to be a new addition to the FPA team.
Jennifer Chen is multilingual, multicultural, and multifunctional. Aside from streamlining the FPA student database, one can find her hiking in the woods, biking on the trails, or playing volleyball. As the days get shorter, she is often on the couch wrapped in layers of blankets with a hot cup of tea and a good book.
My name is Katie Eisel and this is my 10th year teaching. I teach English I/II and serve as Academic Adviser to the seniors. This is my 1st year at FPA where I am also the yearbook adviser. FPA students find ways to make me smile and teach me something new every single day. Outside of school, I like to spend time with my two sons, kayak and hike, and read books.

At FPA the teachers focus on the learning needed to earn an Ohio high school diploma, and do so while also helping students learn to make good decisions for themselves, help students find their own learning strengths and use those strengths in productive ways into their own futures. She is very pleased to be part of this student learning experience.
